John (Jack) T. Fitzgerald, 72, of North Utica passed away Thursday October 12, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital. Jack was born in Ogdensburg, NY on August 2, 1934 a son of Leslie and Georgena (Amo) Fitzgerald. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. At St. Francis de Sales Church on August 14, 1954 Jack married Joan DeBlois a blessed union of 54 years. For many years until his retirement in 1990 Jack was employed with Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. Jack and Joan also ran a ceramic business in Utica for 15 years called the Reel Shop. He was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church, North Utica, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #189 and its' 4th Degree Assembly. Jack especially loved spending time at his home on Canadrago Lake in Richfield Springs. Jack is survived by wife Joan, five daughters and three sons-in-law, Karen and Wade Evans, Floyd, Susan Culkin, Floyd, Debra Carcone, Utica, Lynn and Eric Taylor, Floyd, and Julie and Rob, Delia, Utica, 11 grandchildren, Avery, Mackenzie and Haley Evans, Katti Rehm, Brennan Culkin, Jeffrey, Justin and Joshua Hardy, Jessica Webb, John T. Webb, and Robbie Delia, Jr., a brother and sister-in-law, George and Carmen Fitzgerald, Utica, a brother-in-law, Ken Lowell, Sauquoit, 2 aunts, Ruth Fitzgerald, Ogdensburg and Edna Finch, Syracuse, and special friends, Tom, Steve and Barry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack was predeceased by an infant son, John L. Fitzgerald and a sister, Bernice Lowell. A memorial mass for Mr. Fitzgerald will be held on Saturday October 21, 2006 at 9:00 at St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. There are no calling hours. Those so wishing may make donations to the American Lung Association in Jack's memory.
