Miss Virginia Camajani passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Utica. Virginia was born in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of the late Amos and Helen Camajani. She was a graduate of Bishop MacDonald High School in Brooklyn, NY, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Hunter College and went on to earn a Masters of Science degree in Education from SUNY Cortland. Virginia taught in the Adirondack School system where she held offices and was active on many committees spanning a tenure of 35 years, until her retirement. She was a member of the NYS United Teachers Association and served on many NYS Education committees in her dedicated years of service. Virginia was an avid traveler, enjoying and appreciating the culture around the globe, but derived her main happiness from the time she spent with her loving family and friends. Miss Camajani is survived by her sister, Nancy Camajani and her husband Ken Ehrhardt as well as two beloved nieces, Marissa Ehrhardt and Anita Ehrhardt and many cousins. Virginia was blessed to have many wonderful friends, especially, Peggy Frantz, Nora Aquaviva and Donna Zegarelli who were a great aid and comfort in her time of need. She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia and brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Pat. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Virginia’s memorial Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church in Utica. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in Virginia’s memory. Miss Camajani’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Valley Health Services in Herkimer, NY for the loving care and compassion you provided to Virginia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., N. Utica.
