Mrs. Irene A. Capparelli of Utica passed away on July 16, 2006 at the Siegenthaler Hospice Center. Irene was born in Utica the daughter of Peter and Rose (DiFranco) Passante and received her education in Local schools. On February 6, 1937 she married Louis Capparelli a long and devoted marriage until his death on February 12, 1998. Irene's Family was most important to her and she loved cooking Italian food for them. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, music, dancing and going to her daughter's house on Lake George. She will be remembered as a truly loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Capparelli is survived by her children, Frank Capparelli, Utica, Judith Schultz, Melbourne, Fl and Kenneth (Judy) Capparelli, Marcy; five grandchildren, Corina (Jim) Cardoso Bennett, Gansevoort, NY, Christine (Paul) Cardoso DiCaprio, Glens Falls, NY, Michael (Stormy) Cardoso, Afton, VA, Marlena Capparelli, Liverpool, NY and Robert Deschano, E. Greenbush, NY; seven great grandchildren, Heather, Carissa, Nicole, Anthony, Michelle, James and Ricky; a brother Peter Passante, Utica, a sister-in-law Antoinette Passante Frankfort and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her mother and father, a little sister, Lucinda and her brothers, Esmond, Orrie, Peter, Louis and Alfred. Mrs. Capparelli's family is invited to meet at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica on Tuesday July 18, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass of Christian burial at St. Mark's Church, Keys Rd. N. Utica. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Utica. In keeping with Irene's wishes there are no calling hours. Those so wishing may make a donation to the Siegenthaler Hospice Center in Irene's memory. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Amy and the Day Care Program, the girls and staff at the Infusion Unit and Faxton Hospital, Dr. Jerry Sloan and his staff and the caring staff of the Siegenthaler Center for the care and compassion. " You are not forgotten Mom, our "Little Gram" nor will you ever be"
