Even though you were 800 miles away, I am very fortunate to have been able to spend so much time with you and grandma. You took us fishing and hunting and on the river. You were an incredible person to know. You meant so much to this family and still do, I love you.

My grandfather is one of the two best men, next to my father, I've ever had the pleasure to spend time with. He was incredibly intelligent, unbelievably clever, and a great wit. He used negative things in his life as positives. One can only strive to be able to turn things around in that nature. Only now have I found that this messagebook existed, or I would have commented earlier, but I've had an opportunity to grieve and understand more about the things he was able to pass on to me. If I can only be half the man that Grampa was, then I will have succeeded in life. May God bless his soul.
