John J. Tine, 60, of Utica passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Utica on September 19, 1958, a son of Marilyn (Rieben) Tine and the late Richard Tine Sr. He was raised and educated locally and was a 1977 graduate of Whitesboro High School. In Boonville, NY on August 9, 1980 John was united in marriage to Virginia Yousey. For several years he was employed as a home improvement contractor and then later as an insurance adjuster. John is survived by his wife, Virginia, his mother, Marilyn Tine, of Utica, his three children, Shannon Conner and husband, John, of Yorkville, John J. Tine, Jr. and wife, Kathryn Baxter, of Deerfield, and Michelle Upson and husband, Brandon, of Utica, four grandchildren, Avery Conner, Madelyn Tine, Olivia Tine and Lucas Upson, three sisters, Cathy Miller and husband, Craig, of Utica, Tina Tine-Halkovitch and husband, Ron, of NC, and Shari Tine, of Yorkville, a brother, Daniel Tine and wife, Judann, of NC, in-laws, Vanessa Schulz, of Boonville and Edward Yousey II and wife, Crystal. of NC and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father, a brother, Richard Tine, Jr., a sister-in-law, Valerie Yousey and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Norma Yousey.
