Marilyn J. Urban, 83, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Faxton-St. Luke’s HealthCare. Marilyn was born in Utica on May 5, 1935, a daughter of John and Valeria (Slonina) Olsiewski. She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School, St. Joseph’s College in Maryland where she received a BS Degree in Nursing and Syracuse University where she received a Masters degree in Education. On August 24, 1957 at Sacred Heart Church, Utica, Marilyn was united in marriage to William V. Urban. For 24 years until her retirement in 1990, she taught nursing at Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s & St. Patrick’s Church, Utica. Marilyn is survived by her husband, William, her three sons, Christopher and wife, Christine, of Holland Patent, Stephen and wife, Kathi, of Pouquosin, VA and David, of New Hartford, four grandchildren, Catherine, John, Stevie-Kay and William. Mrs. Urban’s funeral will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 10:00 at St. Joseph’s & St. Patrick’s Church, Utica. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum of Holy Trinity Cemetery. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica are Friday from 5-7. Those so wishing may make donations to a charity of their choice in Marilyn’s memory.
