New Hartford-Mr. Cecil Brandon, 76, a resident of the St. Luke’s Home in New Hartford, formerly of Whitesboro St., Utica, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the nursing home.
Cecil was born April 5, 1941 in Greensboro, FL, the son of Arister and Pearl (Bradwell) Brandon. He was a graduate of Utica Free Academy where he excelled in basketball. Cecil was an accomplished artist in the Utica area, and enjoyed playing and coaching basketball, pool, and bowling.
Mr. Brandon is survived by three daughters, Laguana Perry, Tamie Griffen-Payton and Theresa Berry; one son, Rondell Hicks as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Mary Baker and two brothers, Rodester Brandon and Buddy Brandon.
Mr. Brandon’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. His burial will be in New Forest Cemetery in Utica.
