The greatest battle that mankind will engage in is the battle with one's mortality. It hurts us so much when that battle is lost. This is a sad and grievous time for Shirley's family and friends. Take courage God has the victory over death. My means of the resurrection, a hope that comforts us, our loved ones will live again. In the Bible death is often likened to sleep indicating that one can be awakened from the sleep of death (John 11: 11-14, 28). This is one way that God comforts us by reassuring us that there is a future for those fallen asleep in death. At some point mankind will no longer have to battle with death as God has promised to do His will on earth as in heaven. A grand reuniting of families with everlasting life as the reward is what awaits us. (Romans 6:23) Until that time may God grand you the ability to cope.
