Obituary of Ronald J. Barcomb

Mr. Ronald J. Barcomb, 82, of N. Utica, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at his home, with his loving family by his side.
Ronald was born in Malone, NY on February 19, 1936, the son of Sherman and Marion (Dame) Barcomb and received his education in Malone Schools. Ronald honorably served in the US Army from 1957-1960. On August 16, 1957, Ronald was united in marriage with Barbara Penc at St. Francis de Sales Church in Utica. At one time, Ronald was employed with Skenedoah Corp in Utica, later with Utica Drop Forge and for 25 years, with Remington Arms in Ilion until his retirement in 1997. Ronald was an avid hunter, fisherman and NY Yankees fan. He was a member of Greenfield Fish and Game Club in Deerfield and a parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Parish in Utica. Ronald was a humble man of great faith whose honesty and integrity as evident to all who knew him. Mr. Barcomb is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; one daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Frank Carzo of Whitesboro; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Lyle J. Barcomb of Whitesboro, Kyle J. and Cheryl Barcomb of MI, Timothy J. and Kathy Barcomb of Utica and Eric J. and Jennifer Barcomb of New Hartford; 12 cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth and Josh Brown, Jim Major, Tricia Major, Marianne and Paul Posont, Jamie and Dani Barcomb-Busansky, Jennifer Barcomb, Erika Barcomb, Frank Carzo, IV, Nicholas Carzo, Julia Carzo, Brittany Reynolds and her fiancée Jim Gaffney and Timothy Barcomb; three sisters, Barbara Alsheimer of Clinton, Peggy Loomis of New Hartford and Deanna Ventura of New Hartford; four sisters-in-law, Patricia White of Malone, Linda Fish of Sauquoit, Debbie Penc of NY Mills and Adeline Penc of Utica and a brother-in-law, Gifford Loomis of New Hartford, as well as four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a two brothers, Lyle Barcomb and Jeffery Barcomb and four brothers-in-law, Andrew Alsheimer, Stanley (Bud) Penc, Jerry Fish and Garnet White.
Mr. Barcomb’s funeral will be held on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Parish, 422 Tilden Ave., Utica, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. His interment, in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville, will held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Ronald’s memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
