John “Oskie” Dziura, 91, formerly of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Presbyterian Home. John was born in Utica on August 10, 1927, a son of Michael and Katherine Dziura. John served in the Army from 1952-1954. On April 14, 1951 at Sacred Heart Church, Utica, he was united in marriage to Theresa Caponera. He was employed at Kelsey-Hayes retiring in 1992. John was a member of Church of the Annunciation, Whitestown American Legion and former member of the Moose Club. John is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa, his children, John Dziura and wife, Valerie, of Cleveland, NY, Steven Dziura and wife, Brenda, of Clinton and Deborah Dziura, of Utica; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a special nephew, James Fellone, of New York Mills. He was predeceased by eleven siblings. Calling hours for Mr. Dziura will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 1-2 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica with a service at 2:00. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Those so wishing may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in John’s memory.
