Thomas P. O’Toole, 87, of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care. Thomas was born on June 30, 1931, a son of Stanley and Celia (Weber) O’Toole. On May 31, 1952, in St. Mary’s Church in Little Falls, Thomas was united in marriage to Marie E. Potrikus, a blessed union of 62 years until her passing on January 7, 2014. He served in the Army during the Korean War. For many years he was employed at General Electric until his retirement. Thomas was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #189 and its 4th Degree Assembly, member and Past Commander of American Legion Post #229 and member of St. Mark’s Church. He was also involved in the Knights of Columbus International Bowling League and a proud member of Utica Bowling Hall of Fame. Thomas is survived her two children and spouses, Stephen and Suzanne O’Toole, N. Utica and Patricia and James Staffo, N. Utica; five grandchildren, Jason O’Toole, Jennifer Blake and husband, Andrew, Marie O’Toole, Cynthia Davis, and companion, Pat Mosher, and Joel Davis and wife, Billie Jo; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Janet O’Toole, Whitesboro; sister-in-law, Micky O’Toole, Utica and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Dorothy Murphy, Little Falls. He is also survived by many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by a brother, Robert O’Toole and a sister, Maureen Cieslak. Mr. O’Toole’s funeral will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 12:15 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 1:00 at St. Mark’s Church, N. Utica. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4-7.
