Robert A. Marashian, Sr.,87, of Utica, passed away on October 16, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care. Robert was born in Marcy, NY on November 16, 1930, a son of Movass and Siranoush (Touragian) Marashian. He was raised and educated locally. Robert served in the Army in the Korean War. He was employed at International Heater Corp-Frederich Climate Master. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed going to garage sales and fishing. Robert is survived by his companion, Donna Ruggerio; a daughter, Debra Bonanza and Chris Getz, of North Utica; a son, Robert A. Marashian, Jr. and Sherry McConnell, of Syracuse; many beloved grandchildren, who fondly called him Grandpa Bob; two brothers, Raymond Marashian, of Utica and John Marashian and wife, Marie, of PA; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by a brother, Victor Marashian. Calling hours for Mr. Marashian will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 5- 7 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica with a funeral service to be held at 7:00. Burial will be at New Forest Cemetery, Utica on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00.
