Margaret L. Sciortino, 78, of Utica passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born in Rome, NY on April 22, 1940, a daughter of Roy and Etta Eaher. She was raised and educated locally and was a 1958 graduate of Proctor High School. On June 21, 1960 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Margaret was united in marriage to Jack J. Sciortino, a blessed union of 30 years until his death in 1990. For many years she was employed at the Boston Store in Utica and later with CONMED in Utica. In her spare time, Margaret loved to crochet and needlepoint and was admired for her creations that she shared with family. Margaret is survived by her three children, Geraldine Sciortino, Catherine Pillmore and husband, Theodore, and George Sciortino, all of Utica; a granddaughter, Amanda Sliski and husband, Stephen, of San Diego, CA; two great grandchildren, Solana and Malia Sliski, of CA and two step grandchildren, Trevor Pillmore and Hannah Satterlee. Margaret is also survived by a special sister-in-law Mary Sciortino, the two were inseparable. Margaret’s calling hours are Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5-7 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., Utica. A Celebration of Life will be held following the calling hours at 7 pm. Burial will take place on Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery, Utica.
