Marco Polo Araujo 1934 – 2017
Clinton - On November 30, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Marco Polo Araujo passed gently from the arms of his family into the arms of his Savior Jesus. Marco began life August 15, 1934 in Barranquilla, Columbia, South America where he lived with his parents Bienvenido Catano (father) and Lina Araujo (mother) and two siblings, Roberto and Raqulina before coming to the United States. After many travels throughout the US and numerous exciting job experiences he settled in Albany, NY where he happened to meet the one with whom he would spend the rest of his life. Nancy and Marco were married for just over forty-six years. Together they bore and raised a blessing named Marc Peter and Marc added a beautiful blessing and grace to the family, Rebecca as his wife. To make the family more complete and special, Josiah Marc Peter, son of Marc and Rebecca is the beloved grandson Marco leaves behind.
Marco was known for being a hard worker, for his love of music, entertaining children, loving food, and cookies. He was very artistic in pen and ink as well as wood working. Marco will be sorely missed by many and it is with sadness and joy that we will come together at a CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE in the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church dining room at 551 Sayles St. in Oneida, NY on Sat. Dec. 16 at 11:00 am. This is not a formal service. Please bring a dish to pass, (Marco would have liked that) and we will sing some and share some stories together. Oh yes, and cookies!
Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton.
