Mrs. Jacqueline A. McRorie, 74, of N. Utica, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at her Home with her loving family by her side. Jacqueline was born in Utica on October 16, 1943, the daughter of Eric and Rose (Taylor) Williams. She was raised and educated in Utica, was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and later attended Beautician school in Utica. On January 18, 1969, Jacqueline was united in marriage with Charles W. “Chuck” McRorie, a devoted union of almost 50 years. For many years, until her retirement, Jacqueline was a self-employed beautician at Coiffeurs by Jacqueline in Utica. After retirement, she was employed as cafeteria manager at JFK Middle School in N. Utica, retiring after 13 years of dedicated service. Jacqueline was an avid reader, a past girl scout leader, and a baseball fan, especially the NY Yankees. She also enjoyed travelling with her husband and for 8 years, spending the winter months in Florida. Her true passion were flowers, especially gardening and floral arranging. Jacqueline greatest joy was spending time with her cherished grandchildren who were the light of her life. Mrs. McRorie is survived by her beloved husband, Chuck; one daughter, Vanessa Houck of Utica; one son, Kevin McRorie of Utica; three cherished grandchildren, Jillian Houck, Rowan Houck and Wesley Houck; two sisters, Carol Williams of Utica and Nancy Kistner of Utica; son-in-law, Joel Houck of Newport, NY; one niece and three nephews, Tracy Williams, Michael Williams, David Williams and Timothy Welch and her canine companion, Finn. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Giovincco. Mrs. McRorie’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 10:00 at St. Peter’s Church where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville.
