Helen R. Przelski, 97, of Palm City, Fl., formerly of Deerfield, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Helen was born in Cold Brook, NY on July 19, 1921, a daughter of Frank and Nellie (Kanas) Rybasz. She grew up on a dairy farm on Harris Rd and attended Poland Central School just after it centralized. On July 2, 1938, in Holy Trinity Church, Utica, Helen was united in marriage to Bernard Przelski, a blessed union of 33 years until his passing on February 19, 1971. For many years she was employed in the farming industry, working at Paradise Dale Farm in Barneveld. Helen also worked at Bordons in Newport, Nichols Department Store in Marcy and retired from Square Stamping in Barneveld. Helen was a member of the Deerfield Democratic Club, Deerfield Seniors, Deerfield Homemakers, Honorary member of the Deerfield Fish & Game Club, member of the Skiba Post Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of Holy Trinity Church. She was currently a member of St. Peter’s Church, North Utica. Helen is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Przelski, Fl, a son, Bernard Przelski and his wife, Darlyne, Cold Brook, NY, two grandchildren, Eric Przelski, MD and Carrie Przelski, living in Egypt, three great grandsons, Michael, Max and Benjamin, a sister, Rose Mierzwa, Auburn, NY and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, her parents, Frank and Nellie, a daughter Janice Przelski, a sister Barbara Havens and two brothers, Stanley Rybasz and Walter Rybasz. Mrs. Przelski’s funeral will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:00 at St. Peter’s Church, 422 Coventry Ave., North Utica. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Per Helen’s request there are no calling hours, but those so wishing may make donations to the Poland Library, 8849 North Main St., Poland, NY 13431. The family will receive guests at the conclusion of the mass.
