Mr. Duane D. Rotach Sr., 82, of Barneveld, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Duane was born in Utica on July 4, 1935 the son of Albert and Bertha (Mann) Rotach and was a graduate of Poland High School. He honorably served in the US Navy from 1954-1958. On May 11, 1957, Duane was united in marriage to Joan Golden a loving and devoted union of 60 years. For many years, Duane was employed with Strandflex in Oriskany and was currently with Bernie Bus Service, Inc. He was a member of Riverside Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Utica, was devoted to the bible and enjoyed tending to his flowers and yard. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Duane was happiest when he was with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Rotach is survived by his beloved wife, Joan; one son and daughter-in-law, Duane Jr., and Debra Rotach of Rome; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Peter Begnoche of Rome; eight cherished grandchildren, Jillian Urrutia and her husband Tony, Tyler Rotach, Marcus Rotach, Tiffany Rotach, Garett Begnoche and his wife Jaclyn, Taylor Gregory and her husband Robert, Collin Begnoche and Cooper Begnoche; two adored great grandchildren, Elena Urrutia and Antonio Urrutia; four sister and two brothers-in-law, Beatrice Golden of Rome, Judy Streator of Rome, Susan and George Potter of Floyd and Veronica and Dave Willey of Nashua, NH; one brother, Michael Rotach of Vernon as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Aaron Rotach in 1976, two sisters, Thaddeus Stephens and Barbara Hughes and two brothers, Ken Rotach and Albert Rotach, Jr. Mr. Rotach’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 585 Trenton Rd. Deerfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica.
