Obituary of Beverly A. Dolan

Mrs. Beverly A. Dolan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the St. Luke’s Home in New Hartford with her loving family by her side.
Beverly was born in Utica on February 14, 1925, the daughter of Stanley and Genevieve (Manley) Meeker. Beverly attended St. Francis de Sales High School and was a graduate of Utica School of Commerce. In 1943, Beverly married PVT. Hebert C. Carney, US Army, who was reported missing in action in France on November 12, 1944. On May 1, 1948, Beverly was married to John M. Dolan at Sacred Heart Church in Utica, a blessed union of 62 years until John’s death in in 2010. For 22 years, Beverly was employed with St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital retiring in 1986. She also worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Oriskany until 1989. Beverly was a member of St. Peter’s Church in North Utica, the Deerfield Democratic Club and the Railroad Belles. She was also a dedicated volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Mrs. Dolan is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Maureen Dolan Scialdo of Ilion and Michele and Art Halpin of Barneveld; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan Dolan of Barneveld; her cherished grandchildren, John and Samantha Scialdo, Heather Scialdo, Jacklyn and John Eck, Eric and Jennifer Coriale, Laura and Chase Hunter and Sarah and Wayne Schumaker; ten adored great grandchildren, Logan Eck, Leah Eck, Landon Eck, Piper Scialdo, Dolan Coriale, Gaven Coriale, Jenna Schumaker, Ryan Schumaker, Caleb Hunter and Cayden Hunter and a brother-in-law, Thomas Dolan of Long Island.
Mrs. Dolan’s funeral will be held on Tuesday July 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St., Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in N. Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Mrs. Dolan’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Staff on Barton East at the St. Luke’s Home for the loving care and compassion you provided to Beverly during her five years there. A special thank you to Fr. Richard Dellos and Fr. Anthony LaFache for the spiritual guidance and friendship you shared with Beverly on her final journey of life.
