Mr. Marshall “Skip” E. Jenkins, 59, of Utica, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford. Marshall was born in Utica, on December 26, 1958, the son of James and Carrie (Taylor) Jenkins. He was raised in Utica, was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and attended many vocation training schools. On December 23, 1989, Skip was united in Marriage with Kelly Baye. At one Time, Skip was employed with St. Luke’s Hospital, Heritage Health Care Center, Utica DPW and most recently with ConMed Corporation. Skip will be remembered for his great sense of humor and as a handyman who could fix anything. He also enjoyed music, writing, and above all else, his DJ gigs with his brother Calvin. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Kelly; seven children, Latrisha Y. Jackson, Tiffamy M. Jackson-Holliday and her husband Alon, Jamie L. Jenkins, Jennifer Ayuso, Marshall D. Jackson, Kinte Holland and Tarrick Patterson; his mother, Carrie Jenkins; three sisters, Doris Jenkins, Debbie Jenkins Steele and her husband Alex and Lisa Jenkins; three brothers, Marvin Hayes and his wife Jeanette, Calvin “Boob” Jenkins and Jerome Mathis and his wife Johann; his cousin/brother, Harold King, Jr.; 2 special friends, Rosalind ”Punchy” Jackson and Kari Potter and his best friend, Jaime Brown, as well as several grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, James and brother, James (Tank) Jenkins, III. Mr. Jenkins funeral will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. His burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday from 11:00-1:00 prior to the service. Please omit floral offerings.
