Theodore Frederick (Ted) Mowers, 82, of the St. Luke’s Home passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018. Ted was born in Utica on January 4, 1936, son of the late Harold and Florence (Thomas) Mowers. For many years he was employed with Mohawk Dental Association. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church until its closing and was a current member of Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa. Ted was known for his generosity to charitable organizations. Ted is survived by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Kemnitzer, of Glens Falls, NY; his nephew, John Edward Kemnitzer, his wife Dianne Lincoln and their three children, Kristen, Caitlyn and Jack, of West Windsor, NJ; his niece, Lyn Christine (Kemnitzer) Raymond, her husband Shawn Raymond and her step-sons, Charlie and Logan, of Ballston Spa, NY; his niece, Susan Elizabeth Kemnitzer, of Norfolk, VA; and his nephew, Paul Anthony Kemnitzer, his life partner, Kristine Puopolo and their son, Hudson, of Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Mowers’ funeral will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 from the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica are Friday from 9:30-10:30. The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at St. Luke’s Nursing Home especially Clark West for loving and taking care of Ted until his final hour.
