Elizabeth Jane Roth, 87, a resident of Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford, formerly of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the nursing home. Jane was born in Utica on April 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Frank Joseph and Mary (Zobel) Roth. She was raised in Utica, attended Sacred Heart grade school in Utica and was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, class of 1949. For many years, Jane was employed as a dental assistant and receptionist for Dr. Leonard Levinson and Dr. Robert Schulman, retiring in 1993. Jane was a former member of Sacred Heart Church and its choir. After Sacred Heart closed, she joined Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa in New York Mills. Jane was a member of the Perpetual Adoration Society at St. Joseph-St. Patrick Church, Utica. She was also a member and volunteer for the Heenan Spiritual Program for the handicapped, where she accompanied them on their pilgrimages to the Canadian Shrines and Auriesville Shrine. She was an affiliate of the Society of Mary in Dayton, Ohio. Jane is survived by her devoted nephew, Robert Roth and wife, Cynthia, of Utica, two beloved great nephews, Robert Francis Roth, of CA and Connor Michael Roth, of Utica, many cousins, especially Bridget and Michael Parisi and their children, of Deerfield and the entire Noga family. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary, brother and sister-in-law, Francis John and Rosemary Roth and two sisters, Arlene Ann Roth and Mary Adelaide Roth. Miss Roth’s funeral will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:15 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 11:00 at Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa in New York Mills. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 5 – 7.
