Margaret S. Elliott, 93, passed away on Friday March 16, 2018 at the Masonic Care Community. Margaret was born in Albany on September 19, 1924, a daughter of Edward and Margaret (Lawrence) Strube. She was raised and educated in Albany, graduating from Albany Business College. In Albany on September 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Elliott, a blessed union of 21 years until his passing in 1972. For 32 years, Margaret was employed at Bendix Corp. She was member of St. Peter’s Church in North Utica and the North Utica Seniors. Margaret was an avid golfer and bridge player and in her spare time loved gardening. She loved life to the fullest and especially treasured the time spent with family. Traveling with her sister Jean Nelson and husband, Ed was cherished beyond words. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Mary Anne Lorenz and husband, Steve, Whitesboro and Susan Jones and husband, Bob, NJ, four grandchildren, Katie Sarachan and husband, Tom, PA, Jennifer Badua and husband, Ben, NJ, Doug Jones, TX and Mark Jones, NJ, a great grandson, Arthur Sarachan, two nephews, Bill Nelson and Rob Nelson and members of the Reinhardt family, NC & GA. She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Ed Nelson. Mrs. Elliott’s funeral service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica and at 12:00 from St. Peter’s Church, North Utica. A spring burial will take place in Andes Cemetery, Andes, NY. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 3 – 5.
