Mrs. Carol A. Testa, 74, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica with her loving family by her side.
Carol was born in Whitesboro, NY on August 3, 1943, the daughter of Joseph and Zerena (Hards) Head and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On November 24, 1962, Carol was united in marriage to Douglas S. Testa at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro. Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, whose greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, camping, spending time at the Casino and was a parishioner of the former St. Agnes Church in Utica.
Mrs. Testa is survived by her loving husband, Douglas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and John (Buddy) Dorsagno of Utica and Kim and David Camerota of Whitesboro; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Lauren Testa of Utica, Louis and Ann Marie Testa of Florida and Michael and Katie Testa of Rome; one sister and brother-in-law, Sandra (Peppy) and Harry Stephens of Utica; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Louis Testa of Utica, Robert and Cathy Testa of Utica and Joe Geruntino of PA, as well as 15 cherished grandchildren, 10 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen Testa, infant grandson, Michael Testa, Jr., parents, Joseph and Zerena Head, sister, Dorothy Stephens, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Mabel Testa, two sisters-in-law, Lucy Geruntino and Jennifer Testa and two brothers-in-law, James Testa and William Testa.
Mrs. Testa’s funeral will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00 at St. Paul’s Church prior to the funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Yorkville Volunteer Fire Department, 34 6th Street, Yorkville, NY 13495 in Carol’s memory.
