Jeffrey P. Baker, 56, of Floyd passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 after a courageous battle against cancer. Jeffrey was born in New Hartford, NY on August 19, 1961, a son of the late Stan and Lois (Masscotte) Baker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1979 to 1982. Jeffrey loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and boating. In his spare time Jeffrey enjoyed woodworking and especially spending time with his friends. Jeffrey is survived by his significant other, Bonnie Colangelo and her daughter, Lea Colangelo, a son, Justin Baker, Hyde Park, NY, a sister, Debbie LaClaire and husband, Jim, of North Utica, a brother, Walter Baker and wife, Jeanette, of Columbia, MD, nieces and nephew, Stacey Subik and husband, Eric, of VT, Kristin Connell and husband, Ryan, of Central Square, NY, Joe LaClaire and fiancée, Katie Kenny, of New York Mills, and Brittany Baker and Cam Jones, of MD, two great nieces, Danielle Subik and Mackenzie Connell. Jeffrey was predeceased by a nephew, Thomas LaClaire. A funeral service for Jeffrey will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1:00 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Burial will take place in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday afternoon from 12:00 to 1:00.
