Susann M. Dunn, 71, of New Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Susann was born on October 30, 1946 in New Hartford, the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Cichon) Dunn. She grew up in North Utica and New Hartford. She was a graduate of New Hartford High School and Maria Regina College in Syracuse, NY. Susann began her working career as a bookkeeper for Hotel Utica and later worked at Utica National Insurance, L.A. Moore and retired from Biogenics Dental Labs. Susann always enjoyed bowling having bowled locally in women’s leagues. Most important Susann cherished the time she spent with her many siblings, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Susann is survived by her companion of many years, Daniel R. Cook, four sisters, Mary Dunn, CA, Carol Baker and husband, Alan, FL, Deborah Granell and husband, Doug, TX, and Kathleen Petrowski and husband, Stephen, Yorkville, three brothers, John Dunn and wife, Val, TX, James Dunn and wife, Lori, Schuyler and Christopher Dunn, Utica, a brother-in-law, Michael Getz, Clinton, special friends, Linda Lyons, Clark Mills and Sister Laurita, O.S.F., many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and her canine companion, Pebbles. Susann was predeceased by a brother, Kevin Dunn and two sisters, Charlene Barker and Margaret Getz. Susann’s funeral will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 11:00 from St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society in Susann’s memory. The family would like to thank the staff of Clark North of the St. Luke’s Home for all the loving care given to Susann.
