Mrs. Esther G. Truchon, 85, a resident of the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Esther was born in Lackawanna, NY on September 17, 1932 the daughter of Matthew and Emily (Kramarczyk) Kwilos. She was raised in Hamburg, NY and was a graduate of Hamburg High School. On August 24, 1956, Esther was united in marriage to Emile B. Truchon, a loving union of 49 years until Emile's death in 2005. At one time, Esther was employed with AT&T Phone Co. in Hamburg, NY and later as a tax preparer. In her younger years, she was a drummer and accordion player in a local band. She also enjoyed polka music and was a parishioner of St. Mark's Church in N. Utica. Esther cherished and dedicated herself to her family, and in particular her son John, with whom she had a very special bond and secret handshake. Mrs. Truchon is survived by three daughters Denise Truchon-Borek and her husband Richard of Poland, NY, Yvonne Truchon of Canandaigua and Michele Jones and her husband Timothy of New Hartford; two sons, Paul Truchon and his wife Pamela of Raleigh, NC and John Truchon of Canandaigua and six cherished grandchildren, Nicole Conway, Richelle Borek, Derek Jones, Lindsey Truchon, Matthew Jones and Emily Truchon. Mrs. Truchon's funeral will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 10:00 at St. Mark's Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be held Saturday December 30th at 11:30 a.m. in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Hamburg, NY.
