Ernest A. Berube, 88, of the Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017. Ernie was employed at Trinkaus Manor for 10 years, then for 25 years until his retirement he was employed at St. Luke's Hospital. After his retirement he worked part time at Rogers Coffee Shop in Utica. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church. In his spare time, Ernie volunteered at the church and for Ed Hinko Baseball. Ernie had a great sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with people and always shook their hand. Ernie was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. Ernie is survived by his good friends, Melvin and Sandra Albrecht, of Utica. Mr. Berube's funeral will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday morning from 10:00 -11:00.
