Mrs. Mary A. Dousharm, 80, a resident of Heritage Health Care Center in Utica, formerly of Deerfield, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the nursing home with her loving family by her side. Mary was born in Utica on January 16, 1937, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Nugent) Harder. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School. On November 5, 1966 Mary was united in marriage to Earl James Dousharm, Sr., a devoted union of 35 years until Earl’s death in 2001. Mary enjoyed crafts, knitting, and bingo and was a parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in N. Utica. She will be remembered as a kind and gentle loving mother and grandmother who was happiest spending time with her beloved family. Mrs. Dousharm is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl James, Jr. and Geralynn Dousharm of Schuyler and Dale and Valerie Dousharm of Marcy; fived cherished grandchildren, Brian Dousharm and his wife Christina of Sauquoit, Cassandra Dousharm of Marcy, Ashley Marlenga and her husband Josh of Utica, Brad Niederlander and his friend Karley of Herkimer and Edward Moran of SC; a dear family friend, Bill DeCrisci of Schuyler as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jane. Mrs. Dousharm’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. The family will received visitors at the conclusion of the funeral Mass. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
