Waterville/Oriskany Falls – Marylou Friers, 75, a resident of the Waterville Residential Care Center, formerly of Oriskany Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the home. Marylou was born December 8, 1941 in Utica, the daughter of Raymond and Anna (Lawless) Crumb. She was a graduate of Westmoreland High School and went on to St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. Marylou was then employed as an RN with St. Elizabeth Hospital. On October 31, 1963, Marylou married Robert R. Friers. She had been a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Oriskany Falls. Marylou enjoyed flowers, was a collector of glassware for her home, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Marylou is survived by her husband, Robert Friers, Oriskany Falls; three sons, John (& Darlene Hall) Friers, Vernon, Joseph (& Barbara) Friers, Virginia, Jeff (& Rebecca) Friers, Washington; two grandchildren, Claire and Dawson Friers, Washington; two brothers, Francis (& Debbie) Crumb, Holland Patent, Thomas (& Cheryl) Crumb, Westmoreland. Mrs. Friers funeral will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday evening, from 4 – 7 pm. Those wishing may donate to a charity of your choice in Marylou’s memory.
