Mrs. Betty J. Buck, 87, of Yorkville, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the St. Luke's Home in New Hartford with her loving family by her side. Betty was born in Herkimer, NY on December 14, 1929 the daughter of Charles and Letha (Green) Wagner. She was raised in Herkimer, was a 1948 graduate of Herkimer High School and earned her RN degree in 1953 from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. At one time, Betty was married to Roy T. Buck. She was employed with St. Elizabeth Hospital, later with St. Luke's Memorial Hospital and for 20 years as an RN with Utica Psychiatric Center. Betty enjoyed bowling, playing cards and bingo and received her greatest joy from spending time with her family. She was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Buck is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and William Wilbur of Westmoreland, and Jane and James Wadsworth of Yorkville; two cherished grandchildren, John Klumbach, Jr. and William Wilbur, Jr. and his wife Adrianna; an adored great granddaughter, Emma Ketchum; two sisters Rosemary Quackenbush and Barb Bradbury of Deansboro and Nancy Riley of Utica as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a prayer and time to share memories at the conclusion of calling hours. Her burial will be in Prospect Cemetery on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
