Gloria Glindmyer (Evans), 87, of Clinton, NY died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica. Gloria was born October 17, 1929 in Utica, NY, the younger daughter of John and Geraldine (Schneider) Tubbs. She was named Schenectady’s “Teen Queen” in 1947, and graduated from Scotia High School later that year. On November 5, 1947, Gloria married Earl A. Glindmyer Jr. of Scotia, NY. They moved to Utica, NY in 1956, and finally settled in Clinton in 1958. . In 1984, she married Warren Evans, who was very helpful in her last years. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, who passed in 1975, and her loving sister Betty (Tubbs) Langdon. She leaves six children, Sunny (Louis) Giffune of Teresa, NY, Jeff (Jody) of Summerville, NC, Pam Handzel of Raleigh, NC, Tracey (Steve) Wargo of Ft. Ann, NY, Earl of Clinton NY, and Lisa Granger of Waterville, NY. Additionally, she leaves 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. As she requested, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider the Humane Society of Rome; it was one of her favorite places to visit, and over the years she adopted many of her pets from there.
