Mrs. Shirley Ann DeLett, 87, of Yorkville, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at her Home. Shirley was born in Utica on October 7, 1930, the daughter of Walt and Margaret (Auger) Clifford. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On April 19, 1952, Shirley married Peter R. DeLett at Blessed Sacrament Church in Utica, a loving union of 65 years until Peter's death on July 22, 2017. At one time, Shirley was employed with Utica Mutual Insurance Company and more recently as a ward secretary with St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica. Shirley loved spending time at her swimming pool and in the late 90's was an avid NY Yankees fan. She truly enjoyed her final days spending time with her son, family and close friends in the "sports garage." Mrs. DeLett is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cyndie DeLett of Whitesboro; 8 cherished grandchildren, Kimberly DeLett, Katherine DeLett, Kristen DeLett, Karrie Patenaude and her husband Henry, Kevin DeLett, Jr. and his wife Renee, Kyle DeLett, Kaitlyn DeLett and Sabra Jones,; her sister-in-law, Pat DeLett of Whitesboro as well as 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Carol Emery and daughter-in-law, Rosemary DeLett. Mrs. DeLett’s funeral will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
