Marion Jerzak, 95, of North Utica passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the St. Luke’s Home in New Hartford. Marion was born July 6, 1922 in Edmeston, NY. She was raised and educated there before moving to Sherrill. She later came to Utica, where she met her husband, Stanley Jerzak. They were married on July 22, 1958 in Niagara Falls, NY. Marion had also worked for many years at Durr Packing Company and then at Mele’s Manufacturing, where she worked until retiring in the late 70’s to care for her husband due to his health. Mr. Jerzak passed away in 1984. Marion was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was always willing to help in any way she could. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her three grandchildren. Marion was also an accomplished seamstress and a wonderful baker. She especially loved baking at the holidays, making her famous pies and breads. Marion is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dean Sirianni, Deerfield; three grandchildren, Phillip, Nicholas, and Kristen Sirianni; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jerzak’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown. There are no calling hours. Those wishing may donate to St. Mark’s Church or to the American Heart Association in Marion’s memory.
