Charles A. Austin, 85, of Whitesboro, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Charles was born in Yorkville on July 22, 1932, a son of Charles J. and Lena (Bellinger) Austin. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1960. In Utica, Charles married Doris Gauthier. Charles was employed 37 years with General Electric. During his management tenure, he was especially proud of his team’s accomplishment and success in implementing MRPII throughout GE Aerospace. Charles was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro, and member of GE’s Elfun Society. Charles is survived by his seven children, Mary Keating, of Whitesboro, Karen Phillips, of Utica, Linda Pryborowski and husband, Michael, of Whitesboro, Charles J. Austin and wife, Teresa, of VA, Charlene Famolaro and husband, James, of Marcy, Scott Austin, of Ohio and Barbara Fluty and husband, Scott, of Deerfield. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Austin's funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:30 from St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Mass Cards be considered. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center Special Care, ICU and Speech Pathology Departments for all the loving care given to Charles.
