Mr. Lawrence "Fee" V. McKewn, 46, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at his home in N. Utica with his loving family by his side.
Lawrence was born in Brooklyn NY on August 23, 1970 the son of Robin Hollman Cedeno. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn and was a graduate of High School Redirection in Brooklyn. At the young age of 12, Lawrence met the love of his life, Angela Ny'Tasha Glover, they two started dating at the age of 14 and on October 7, 1994, Lawrence and Angela were married in NY City. They lovingly have 5 children who they cherish with all their hearts. He was employed as a truck driver with various companies including; Union Beer Distributor, LLC in Brooklyn, Casa Imports in Utica, A.R.G. Trucking in Phelps, NY and Lavelle Transportation in Potsdam, NY. In 2012, Lawrence became an Independent Truck Driver under the name of Lawrence McKewn Trucking. (L.MC.T) His love and devotion to family was evident from a young age as he helped raise his four youngest siblings. Fee enjoyed entertaining family and friends when ever and where ever the opportunity arouse and he left a wonderful lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be remembered as a man who loved cars, his job as a truck driver, and who loved his family and friends with all his heart.
Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife, Angela; four sons, Devair McKewn, Devar McKewn, DeVonte Malik McKewn and Devon McKewn all of N. Utica; one daughter, "HIS ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS" Devaisha McKewn of N. Utica; one adored grandson, D.J. McKewn; his Mother, Robin Cedeno of NY City; an uncle, Stephon Hollman of NY City; three sisters, Lashaunda (Monkey) McKewn, and "his little sisters", Shilekka McKewn and Gabriella Cedeno all of NY City; two brothers, William Starkey and Dwayne Starkey both of Brooklyn; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Glover of Brooklyn and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Glover, Jr. of Brooklyn as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his cousin Taquaisha "Tee Tee" Hollman who was like a sister to Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bizand and Mattie Hollman, who were waiting with opens arms to welcome Lawrence at the Heavenly Gates.
Mr. McKewn's funeral will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. His burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service.
