Doris M. Potaczala, 94, of the Presbyterian Home, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the home. Doris was born in Greensburg, PA on July 9, 1923, a daughter of Herbert H. and Edna (Hahn) Liebhaber. On April 26, 1947 Doris was united in marriage to Thaddeus Potaczala, a blessed union of 27 years until his death on August 19, 1974. For many years she was employed with New York Telephone Co. Doris was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church. In her spare time she loved to read and do puzzles. Doris is survived by her five children, Linda Williams and husband, Howard, of RI, Joyce Piersma and husband, Robert, of Marcy, Mark Potaczala, of Scotia, NY, Thaddeus (Ted) Potaczala, Jr. and wife, Deborah, of West Winfield and Steven Potaczala, of Utica. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by two sons, Robert and Gregory Potaczala, a daughter, Janet Gaska, a great granddaughter, Rita Marie Cook, a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Donald Clark and a brother, Herbert Liebhaber. Mrs. Potaczala's funeral will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 from Holy Trinity Church, Utica. Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers please consider having a Mass said for Mrs. Potaczala at a church of your choice.
