Mr. Richard W. Neri, 45, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from heart failure on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Richard was born in New Hartford on October 18, 1971 the son of Richard W. and Marilyn (Zabinski) Neri. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Richard was employed as a mental health aide with Utica Psychiatric Center. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed cooking. He was of the Catholic Faith. Richard is survived by the love of his life, Melisa Sauter of Utica; his beloved daughter, Gianna Neri of Utica; his mother, Marilyn Neri of Utica; sister, Renee Neri and her fiancée Mike Teti of Utica; brother, Ralph Neri and his fiancée Patricia of GA; nephews, Michael Lackey and Richard Neri; niece, Carmella Neri; aunt, Mona Zabinski and Melisa's children, Ashlee Rolchigo and Brandon Sauter. Also surviving are many many friends to numerous to mention (The West Utica Revolution). He was predeceased by his father Richard. Richard's funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. His interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
