Sheila M. Costello died peacefully on March 21, 2017 after a short illness, in the Villages, FL with family by her side. Sheila was born in Utica the daughter of John (Jack) and Mary Beatrice (O'Brien) Costello. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, Herkimer County Community College and earned a Bachelor in Business from SUNY IT. Sheila was employed as a financial Analyst at Lockheed Martin from which she retired in 2011. Sheila was a very athletic person who enjoyed skiing, tennis and golf. When she and Nick moved to the Villages in 2009 she played pickleball, tennis and was a member of 3 golf groups. She loved the Villages lifestyle, riding in her gold cart, playing cards and dominoes with friends and insisting that playing for money made the games more fun. She was a former member of the Skenandoa Golf Club, Yahnundasis Country Club, Brookside Tennis Club and GE Ski Club. Sheila will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh, her great sense of humor and her competitive spirit. Sheila is survived by her husband Nick Kelly of the Villages, FL; son, Kit Spring (Jill) and three grandchildren of Denver, CO; son, John Spring (Annie) of Grafton, MA; sisters, Jane Enzien, Carol Phillips (Mike), Helen Evans (Mike) and Debbie Batt (Greg); brothers, John Costello (Ann) and Jim Costello (Lucille) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends in the Villages and Utica. She is also survived by Nick's two children, John Kelly (Kelly) of Utica and Alison Melanson (Brian) of Schenectady and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Margaret Ryan, Ann (Sissy) Pyne and Cherry Travers. A memorial Mass with be celebrated on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Marvin St., Clinton. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 E. Park Row, Clinton.
