Margaret T. Iffert, 83, of the Presbyterian Home passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Margaret was born in Utica on December 12, 1933 a daughter of James and Helen (Popple) Essel. At St. Francis de Sales Church, Utica on July 7, 1956 she married Eugene K. Iffert a blessed union of 42 years until his death on January 13, 1998. For several years Margaret was employed with the New York Telephone Co. She was a member of the Church of The Annunciation, Clark Mills and its Altar Rosary Society. Margaret is survived by her three sons, Kenneth Iffert and wife, Cecile of Long Lake, NY, James Iffert and wife Linda of Westmoreland and William Iffert of Clinton, five grandchildren, Steven, Amanda, Michael Brandon and Cory, three great grandchildren Jackson, Adriana and Luke, a sister, Joan McMannon of New Hartford, a cousin, Terry Brady of Rome special friend, Pat Stuttard of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by a son, Thomas Iffert in 1982 and a sister, Kathleen Popple in 2016. Mrs. Iffert's funeral will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 4:00 pm from the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 1:00-4:00. Those so wishing may make donations to Central Oneida County Ambulance Corp. in Margaret's memory.
