Utica, NY / Milford, MA – Barbara T. Riley, 84, a resident of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, formerly of Utica, and Milford, MA, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the nursing home. Barbara was born July 15, 1932, in Utica, the daughter of Edward L. and Marion (Oeink) Reuben. She was raised and educated locally and went on to become a nurse in the Pediatrics Unit of St. Elizabeth Hospital. She later was employed with Blue Cross / Blue Shield. Barbara had belonged to Blessed Sacrament Church and St. Joseph & St. Patrick’s Church. While living in Milford, MA, she became an avid supporter of the Milford Humane Society, and enjoyed going to Cape Cod. Barbara is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lynn Riley, Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Earl Licklider, Milford, MA; seven grandchildren, Ann Licklider Alves, Matthew Licklider, Jared Licklider, Jason (& wife, Diana Tubbs) Licklider, Michael (& partner, Katie Waldowski) Riley, Andrew (& wife, Megan) Riley, Kaila (& husband, James) Fitzgerald; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson Alves, Bridget Alves, Cadence Riley, Phoenix Riley, Dustin Fitzgerald, Brooke Fitzgerald, Lincoln Riley, and Grace Riley; one brother, Edward “Sonny” Reuben, Dover, DE. A funeral service will be held for Barbara on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm, at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1 – 2 pm, prior to the service. Those wishing may donate to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society in Barbara’s memory.
