Janet E. Grimmer, 87, of Largo, FL and formerly of Whitesboro, NY, passed away on August 28, 2017 in Florida. Janet was born in Utica on March 10, 1930, a daughter of George and Elizabeth (Murphy) Huss. Janet married Murray F. Grimmer at Historic Old St. John's Church on June 7, 1952, a blessed union of 60 years until his death on June 8, 2012. For many years she worked as a medical secretary for various doctors in the Utica area. She was a parishioner of Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica. Janet is survived by a daughter, Lynn Renfrew and husband, John, of Yorkville, a son, Michael Grimmer and wife, Robin, of Largo, FL, five grandchildren, Victoria Renfrew, Danielle Horton, Jonathan Grimmer, Ryan Grimmer, and Matthew Grimmer, two great grandchildren, Samantha Grimmer and Nora Horton, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Maureen Grimmer and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Grimmer's funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 10:00 from Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. There are no calling hours.
