Mary Spano, 90, a resident of the Brook Grove Nursing Home, Sandy Springs, MD, who formerly lived with her sister, Jackie Davis, in Olney, MD and also from Utica, NY passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at the home. Mary was born in Utica on May 14, 1926, a daughter of the late Ciro and Vincenza (Mineo) Spano and was educated in the Utica Schools. For many years Mary worked in the family business the Ohio Baking Co., where her brother Joe always said she was the fastest worker at the bakery. She was a member of St. Anthony-St. Agnes Church. Mary was an adoring aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Mary is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Davis, of Olney, MD, her brother, Joseph Spano, of Deerfield, nieces and nephews, Joseph Spano, Deerfield, Julie Carone, New Hartford, Mario Restive, Frankfort, Regine Arcuri, Liverpool, Vincent Restive, Deerfield, Jacquelyn Koehn, Derwood, MD , Lauren Nese, Apollo, PA and Valerie Davis Kong, Cincinnati, OH, Natalie Spano England, NYC, NY, Rebecca Spano Foster, Boston,MA. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by a sister, Rosaria Restive and a brother, John Spano, a sister-in-law, Elaine Spano and a brother-in-law, William Davis. Miss Spano's funeral will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016, at 10:30 from St. Anthony-St. Agnes Church, Utica. Entombment will take place in the Calvary Mausoleum. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica are Sunday, (Today) from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to St. Anthony-St. Agnes Church in Mary's memory.
