Elaine Marie Scholl 85, of New Hartford, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with her husband and son by her side. Elaine was born in Utica on January 7, 1931 a daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Pietruszka) Lastowski. She was raised and educated locally graduating from St. Joseph's Grammar School and Utica Free Academy class of 1949. Elaine married Donald R. Scholl at Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica on January 11, 1953. Elaine was employed with P.J. Green Advertising Co. for many years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. Cooking for her family, brought her great joy and she will especially be remembered for the many wonderful meals she made for her family. Above all, her greatest joy was caring for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, tending to their needs with love and devotion. Elaine is survived by her beloved husband, Don, her son and daughter-in-law, Donald D. and Patricia Scholl, two grandchildren and their spouses, Kristine and Josh Periord and Matthew and Kristina Scholl, four great grandchildren, Evelyn Periord, Henry Periord, Carson Scholl and Austin Scholl, a sister-in-law, Alline Kulpa, and nieces and nephews, Mary Lynn and Colin Sheperd and their children, Jennifer and Justin and Michele and Chris Hill and their children Michael and Rebecca. Elaine was predeceased by an infant son, Richard, her parents and her mother and father-in-law, August and Sarah Scholl. Mrs. Scholl's funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 11:00 from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. There are no calling hours. The family will greet people at the conclusion of the Mass. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
