Mrs. Cecelia Helen Ruzga, 96, of Deerfield, passed away on Monday June 6, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Cecelia was born in Cleveland, OH on December 29, 1919 the daughter of Bruno and Anna (Frania) Maslowski and received her education in Cleveland schools. In Cleveland OH in 1946, Cecelia married Michael Ruzga, a devoted union of 35 years until Michael’s death in 1981. Cecelia was a former volunteer for the summer swim program at Marcy Pool and was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed nature. She also enjoyed reading, spending time with her loving family and was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in N. Utica and a past member of the Genetaska Club. Mrs. Ruzga is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Renee and Rishi Vohra of New Hartford and Lynne Ruzga of Deerfield; one son, Thomas M. Ruzga of Deerfield and a grandson, Jazmond Davis of Whitesboro. Mrs. Ruzga’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, N. Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, N. Utica. There are no calling hours.
