Mr. Edward C. Goppert, 62, of Utica, passed away of Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the Heritage Health Care Center in Utica. Edward was born in Utica on January 24, 1954 the son of Joseph J. and Helen (Odit) Goppert and received his education in local schools. Edward served in the US Marine Corps. He was very active and loved landscaping, enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a huge NY Giants fan. He was of the protestant faith. Mr. Goppert is survived by two sons, Steven Horner and Jesse J. Price; two grandchildren, Melody H. Price and Xavier C. Horner; four sisters, Dawn DiNitto, Alice Zayas (Greg Mosher), Leatrice (Dave) Doolen and Tabbitha (Paul) Smith; two brothers, Mitch Goppert and Joseph Goppert III; two sisters-in-law, Anna Goppert and Tracey Goppert as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Alice Goppert, brother, Allen Goppert and brother-in-law, Mike DiNitto; Calling hours for Mr. Goppert will be Friday, April 1, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. His funeral and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
