Eugene A. Roth, 80, a resident of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, formerly of Whitesboro and Utica, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016, at the nursing home. Eugene was born in Utica on June 13, 1935, the son of Joseph W. and Marjorie (Owens) Roth. He was raised locally, graduating from Utica Catholic Academy. Eugene had been employed with St. Elizabeth Medical Center until his retirement. He also provided lawncare with his own private business. Eugene was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro. Eugene is survived by four nieces and their families, Patricia (& James) Hayes, Deansboro; Sally (& Richard) Panasan, Arizona; Carol (& Frank) Parker, Marcy; Margaret Fall, Whitesboro. Also surviving are several great and great great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Caroline Joan and Salvatore Mario, and by a nephew-in-law, Scott Fall. Mr. Roth’s funeral will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 9:30 am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Eugene’s family offers their thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the Elm Wing of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, especially Marcia and Cindy, for the care and compassion given to Eugene during his stay.
