Mr. Floyd A. Manning, 69, of Prospect, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Floyd was born in Utica on August 4, 1946 the son of Lawrence and Henrietta (Emden) Manning. He was raised in Utica and Holland Patent and was a graduate of Holland Patent High School. On January 6, 1974, Floyd married Sharon L. Kratzenberg, a devoted union of 42 years. Floyd was employed with the Masonic Home in Utica, retiring in 2009 after 42 years of dedicated service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, golf and bowling. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Manning is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Rebecca Ingersoll of Little Falls, NY and Todd and Kim Ingersoll of Conroe, Texas; three cherished grandchildren, Holly Bates and her husband Danny of Prospect, Casey Ingersoll of NC and Ryan Miller of Little Falls; 3 adored great grandchildren, Hailey-Marie E. Ingersoll, Tristen Floyd-Ryker Ingersoll and Skyler R. Ingersoll; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Walt Synakowski of FL; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Marie Manning of Prospect as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mr. Manning's funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Saturday from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service.
