Helen Theresa Morelli, 98, of North Utica passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Helen was born in Utica on March 18, 1917, a daughter of Walter and Aniela (Chowaniec) Kaminski. On January 19, 1942 at St. Patrick’s Church, Utica, Helen was united in marriage to Benjamin J. Morelli, a blessed union of 29 years until his passing in 1971. She was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church, North Utica. Helen loved gardening and sewing and will be remembered as an excellent cook. Helen is survived by two daughters, Natalie McGraw and husband, Bud, N. Myrtle Beach, SC and Elizabeth (Liz) Morelli, N. Utica, two grandchildren, Laura Mawaz and Lori Ann Sheung, both of Davenport, FL and two sisters-in-law, Gladys Kaminski and Anna Morelli. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, Catherine Johnson and family, Mary Catherine and Ken Warren, Robert Johnson and daughter, Mary Estelle May, Patricia Murdock and family, Kim, Ed and Zach Wessinger and Kristen and Michael Skobla, Mary Lein and family, Christopher, Patty, Isabella, Christopher and Harper Lein, Rose and Mark Johnson, Linda and Nicky Zenzillo and family, Tanya and Melissa Zenzillo and Shana Pritchard, Michael Rys, Anthony DiPietro and family, Laurie, Bob, Erin and Mark Senior, Tony, Michele, Grace and Julia DePietro, Caroline Swierczek and Christina Koons, Janet and Frank Cerminaro and family, Frank, David and Debbie and Beverly and James Brady and family, Michele and David. Helen was predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and Anthony DiGiglio, Mary and Charles Johnson, and Frances and Michael Rys and a brother, Walter Kaminski, in-laws, Mary and Frank Mastrilli, John and Victoria Morelli, Dominick and Lillian Morelli and Grace Morelli, nieces and nephews, Rosemarie Johnson, Charles Johnson, George Lein, David Murdock, Ronald DiGiglio, Patricia DePietro and John Morelli. Mrs. Morelli's funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10:30 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 11:00 from St. Peter's Church, N. Utica. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday morning from 8:30-10:30. Those so wishing may make donations to your favorite charity in Helen's memory. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mary Lein, Patricia Murdock, Kim, Ed and Zach, Kristen and Michael and Erin Abrams, for all your help and support during this difficult time.
