Mr. William (Billy) A. Meyers, 67, of N. Utica, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford with his loving wife by his side. William was born in Utica on April 10, 1948 the son of Charles, Jr. and June (Pulling) Meyers and received his education in local schools. On August 1, 1970, William married Melenie Zyla. For many years, he was employed with the Utica Police Department retiring as a lieutenant in 1991. William is survived by his beloved wife, Melenie as well as many cousins, dear friends and his loving cat, Dziki Relatives and friends are invited to William's memorial Mass of Christian burial and celebration of life on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church in Utica. His Rite of Committal and burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. In keeping with William's wishes there are no calling hours. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the memorial Mass. Those wishing to make a donation in William's memory, please consider the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Meyers' wife extends her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Qandah, Dr. Brehaut, Dr. Breslow and the entire staff of Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, ICU for the wonderful care and compassion you provided to William.
