Mrs. Mary Carol Emery, 88 of New Hartford, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford with her loving family by her side. Mary was born in Utica on December 20, 1927 the daughter of Francis W. and Margaret (Augar) Clifford. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On April 10, 1948, Mary married John “Jack” D. Emery at Blessed Sacrament Church in Utica. At one time Mary was employed with Sealtest and for many years with NY Telephone Company until her retirement. She was a Parishioner of St. Thomas Church in New Hartford and a member of the St. Thomas Church Woman’s Club. Mrs. Emery is survived by her five children, Mark and Yvonne Emery of Boonville, Colleen and Nick Sgroi of Utica, Patricia and Fran Morreale of Utica, Kristine and Dave Kelsey of New Hartford and John and Cari Emery of New Hartford; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Bob DeLett of Yorkville as well as 11 cherished grandchildren, 16 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Jack Emery in 2003, sister and brother-in-law, Corrine and Orville Brown and two sisters-in-law, Doris Ladd and Winifred Flans. Mrs. Emery’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Church where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her rite of Committal and burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
